GameSpot denies Gerstmann’s firing was due to ad pressure

GameSpot has officially confirmed Jeff Gerstmann’s departure, but says that “contrary to widespread and unproven reports, his exit was not a result of pressure from an advertiser.” Not linked to GameSpot.com because they don’t deserve the traffic until the full details are disclosed.
